Les deux coureurs du Team Baudille Cyclisme 34 prennent les devants autour du quinzième kilomètre, là où la course s'engouffre dans la vallée de l'Agly. Le revêtement est un bitume parfait et les deux compères le mettent à profit pour entamer les écarts. Un kilomètre après Espira de l'Agly ils précèdent Benjamin Beyssac (V.C. Maurs-15) de 25'', Nicolas Courtadon (Rigarda-66) de 30'' et le peloton de 30''. Au passage à Cases de Pène (km 19) l'écart passe à 1'15'', pour s'amplifier au fil des kilomètres. Une réaction naît autour d'Estagel où un groupe d'une dizaine d'hommes arrive à s'extirper du peloton. Le Pas de l'Echelle se grimpe à un rythme conséquent qui allonge puis éclate l'imposant peloton. La montée vers Opoul en fait de même. Ensuite lorsque l'épreuve glisse vers la plaine la poursuite tente de s'intensifier, mais il est déjà un peu tard. Ley et Delourme se ressaisissent pour puiser dans leurs réserves et terminent positivement leur attaque matinale. Même si dans le final Thibaut Verhoeven jette tout son venin pour limiter la casse. Mais il est déjà trop tard. Dommage !
